1st Year Educational Psychology: Scenario-based Questions aligned to Learning Theories
Friday, September 2, 2022
Dear Colleagues,
Scenario-based Questions aligned to Learning Theories
Lecturer designed
scenario-based questions, making use of both short answer and essay question
types. Resources were shared with students in order to prepare them for
different scenarios/situations. The lecturer selected the scenarios aligned to
different learning theories and this assisted students with the application of
their knowledge in ‘real-life’ situations. These prospective educators/teachers
were presented with different scenarios which required them to critically
evaluate how they would respond in a situation during an assessment.
Essay Assignments linked to Turnitin (Tii)
Students were required to submit their written essay assignment via the Assignment eTool within iKamva linked to Turnitin (Tii). The students were able to view the similarity report and make changes to their essay and resubmit more than once. The assignment was graded online and student marks were released accordingly.
Tests and quizzes setup for
Long questions and MCQ activities
The lecturer has setup various assessments using the Tests and Quizzes eTool. Making use of the question pools, students were able to complete random questions when completing the assessment. Long questions and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) tests were created as separate assessments. Students received their marks upon submission of the MCQs.
Sharing course resources
The Course Resources eTool was used to share learning material with students, including the Course Outline, PowerPoint Presentations and online lecture recordings
The lecturer used the Announcement eTool to regularly inform students of online lectures, course material and availability and update of online assessment marks
Wonderful to read how lecturer Ada has thought about her design and delivery for her prospective teachers educators..
