Lecturers are required to create new online environments (module sites) for each academic term, within the iKamva Learning Management System. Hence, your Semester 2 modules will not automatically be migrated.

  1. As a lecturer, you have a role within the iKamva platform, namely ‘Instructor’.
  2. This role enables you to create a new site and migrate the necessary course resources, assessments, and lesson pages from previous years.
  3. It should be noted that lecturers are responsible for addressing their UWC access details (i.e. with respect to all platforms). Your account details will also be used to access iKamva. If your access details have not been placed in the 'lecturer database', you need to request assistance from ICS Servicedesk.
  4. The CIECT team (Instructional Designers) assists with the creation of online modules, within iKamva.
  5. Currently a number of 531 Semester 2 modules have been created for 2026.
  6. CIECT has prepared a series of self-help instructional materials that will assist you with the creation of your interactive online module.  Access the instructional material at: https://tinyurl.com/3nas83z3

CIECT has designed and developed faculty banners that will be aligned to all online modules. These banners have been developed to provide a consistent and visually appealing look across modules. They will be incorporated into module overview pages.

NB: It should be noted that students are requesting access to modules that lecturers have not created to date. Please contact the CIECT team to create your Semester 2 module.
