Lecturer Carinne Peterson makes use of a blended learning approach to facilitate the delivery of the module (Psychological Assessment, PSY 709), integrating both face-to-face and online activities to support student engagement and understanding.
Psychological Assessment is a structured process used to evaluate mental health, psychological functioning, and human behaviour. This course is administered by trained psychometrists who are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to conduct and interpret psychological assessments.

Blended Mode of Provision: Supporting Face-to-face Sessions
Students are expected to attend lectures in person during their designated group time slots. The online environment complements the face-to-face sessions through supplementary learning activities. These include lecture materials, assessments, and important announcements, providing students with additional resources to support their learning and engagement throughout the module.

Face-to-face Controlled Semester Tests [Hosted on iKamva] Students were expected to engage in the online assessment, which was set up using Tests and Quizzes. The lecturer contacted CIECT to ensure that the test parameters were confined to a specific computer lab (IP address and password protected). Hence, students were required to complete the two online semester tests in the specific controlled lab environment.

Coursework: Online Continuous Assessments Three assessments were set up via the Assignments eTool, which includes reflexive journaling, group presentations, and an individual written seminar paper. These formative assessments contribute towards the Continuous Assessment Mark (CAM). The individual assessments are linked to Turnitin, which allows students to rework their submissions to improve their academic writing.
