1728 - UWC staff attended ICT Training Workshops & Consultations during National Lockdown: 'Preparing academic and non-academics for the University in the Digital Age'
Monday, December 7, 2020The Centre for Innovative Education and Communication Technologies (CIECT) provides quality ICT Skills Training workshops to all academics and non-academics across faculties and departments at UWC.
Sessions cover both basic and intermediate training, including Microsoft Office, Marks Administrative System, Turnitin, and PDF editing. These ICT training sessions take place on a weekly basis, however the team delivers upon request by individual and departmental groups.
During the national lockdown period, the team continued training via Google Hangouts. Participants across the institution requested remote ICT training, including:
· Human Resources,
· Finance,
· Procurement,
· Legal,
· Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences,
· Faculty of Education,
· Faculty of Dentistry,
· Faculty of Arts,
· Faculty of Community and Health,
· Faculty of Law and
· Faculty of Sciences
NB: The team offered 64 ICT workshops for the period January – Nov 2020.
NB: 508 participants across academic and non-academic areas engaged in the workshops.
NB: 1220 participants requested one-on-one online training and consultation sessions
