Training Overview: Practical AI and Digital Skills
Participants were introduced to practical applications of AI and digital tools relevant to their administrative responsibilities. The session focused on demonstrating how technology can be used to support everyday tasks and improve workplace efficiency. The training entailed:
Building Digital and AI Confidence
The workshop highlighted the importance of moving beyond awareness of AI towards practical AI literacy. By providing staff with opportunities to work directly with AI and digital tools, CIECT aims to support participants in developing the confidence to identify appropriate uses of technology within their professional roles. The combination of AI applications and practical digital skills also demonstrated how different technologies can complement one another to support administrative workflows. This approach enables staff to explore technology not simply as a new tool, but as a means of improving existing processes and working more efficiently.
CIECT remains committed to enhancing digital literacy and AI capacity across the UWC community through targeted training and professional development initiatives for staff and students. Through workshops such as the AI Workshop for Arts Administrators, CIECT continues to empower staff with practical skills that support the effective, responsible, and meaningful use of emerging technologies in higher education.
