Lecturer Nausheena Dalwai with the support of Administrator Thomas Galvin created an interactive online environment to share content, set up assessments and communicate with students in the English for Educational Development CHS (EED 111) module.

Formative Online Assessment: Language Test [Fill-in-the-blank and Short-answer Question Types]
A practice timed test was created allowing students to become familiar with processes on how to engage in the official Language test. Before the students engaged with the formative assessment, they were provided with clear instructions and an article. The format of the test included fill-in-the-blank and short answer question responses. The Tutors marked this assessment and the lecturer moderated accordingly.

Formative Online Assignments: Argumentative Essays and Self-initiated Piece
This module is structured for CHS students and hence the groups are formed according to departments (Community Development, Dietetics, Social Work). Students are expected to engage in argumentative essays and a self-initiated piece. The Tutor and Lecturer is able to access the respective student groups for grading purposes. Rubrics were assigned to the specific formative assessment.

Summative Assessment: Sit Down Exam [Three Exams]
Students are referred to processes prior to the exam. Students wrote the final exam in three sit down venues. The supplementary exam took place in another venue. This was communicated to the students via the Announcement eTool.
